Conference “Museum in the conditions of the Russian-Ukrainian war and after it: survival strategies and visions of the future”

Dnipropetrovsk National Historical Museum named after D.I. Yavornytskyi invites museum workers, historians, preservationists and interested members of the public to participate in the All-Ukrainian scientific and practical conference “Museums in the conditions of the Russian-Ukrainian war and after it: survival strategies and visions of the future”, which will be held on December 10-11, 2022 in mixed format (on the basis of the DNIAM educational hub named after D.I. Yavornytskyi and online).

Areas of work of the conference:

  1. “Winter is near”: successful cases of preparing museum institutions to work in conditions of interruptions/absence of heating and electricity;
  2. Museum in evacuation: new forms of scientific and educational work in the conditions of war;
  3. Museum in virtual space: projects of digitization of museum collections in wartime;
  4. Under the blue shield: current problems of foundation and restoration work in the conditions of Russian aggression;
  5. Despite the circumstances: museum expeditions and new arrivals;
  6. The Museum of the Future: Changes in Museum Narratives and Exhibitions;
  7. Prospects and projects for the development of new museum expositions dedicated to the modern Russian-Ukrainian war;
  8. In the labyrinth of historical parallels: how we understand modern war through the prism of past experiences.

Working languages of the conference: Ukrainian and English.

It is planned to publish an electronic collection of abstracts of the conference, which will be posted on the website https://www.museum.dp.ua/.

Requirements for drafting abstracts of the report: approximate volume – 3 pages; A4 format; edges – 20 mm on all sides; font – Times New Roman, pin – 14; interval – 1.0; alignment – in width; paragraph indentation – 1 cm.

At the beginning of the publication: the name of the author, the place of his work – in italics on the left edge. The title of theses is in large, bold letters across the width.

References to cited sources and literature should be given in square brackets after the citation. The first number is the number of the source given in the list after theses, the second is the number of the cited page, for example, [2, c. 49].

The list of sources and literature should be prepared in accordance with “DSTU 8302:2015. Bibliographic reference. General provisions and rules of drafting”.
