10 вересня 2016 року о 12.00, з нагоди Дня танкіста на території експозиції просто неба «Шляхами Донбасу» Дніпропетровського історичного музею відбулася церемонія нагородження танкістів 93-ї окремої механізованої бригади ЗСУ нагрудним знаком «За оборону Донецького аеропорту».
Під час церемонії перед бійцями виступили священик УПЦ КП, військовий капелан отець Дмитро Поворотний, директор ДНІМ Н.І. Капустіна та творчий колектив «Дитячий музичний театр «Соняшник».
Після нагородження бійці залишили свої підписи на прапорі 93-ї ОМБр, який стане частиною експозиції музею АТО.
